Hacı Bektaş Veli, the great Turkish thinker who lived in the 13th century, had an impact on the foundation of the Ottoman Empire and the Turkization of Anatolia. The doctrines of human, universe and love of God and tolerance are the basis of the Bektashi order, which continues today not only in Anatolia but also in the Balkans and the Middle East. Hacı Bektaş Veli Tomb is accepted as the center where the Bektashi teachings emerged and spread all over the world.
It is nominated as a candidate for the World Heritage List because it is directly related to this international belief system and its ritual and symbols are used in the mausoleum architecture and interior design of this belief system.
