Samsun City

Samsun is one of our favorite cities of nature lovers in the Central Black Sea region. It is a small settlement center founded by Miletos people (Millet), one of the city-states of Ion in 750 BC. Later, it remained under the domination of Persia, Macedonia, Pontus, Rome, Byzantine, Danişment, Seljuk and Ottoman. Great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk started the national struggle from 19 May 1919 here and made Samsun one of the important places in our history. It has a unique geography with Samsun Kızılırmak and Yeşilırmak rivers, Bafra and Çarşamba plains. Samsun Pita should be eaten during Samsun visits, Atakum beach should be visited.
